Rules for attending our private French classes.

⏰ Be on time. You will not be accepted if you are late. Please note that you will not receive a refund for missed classes.

📬 If the teacher is not notified ahead of time that you will be late, they will only wait 15 minutes past the scheduled start of the class for you to arrive before leaving, and the class will be charged at the agreed hourly rate as a full class.

👩‍🏫 You are allowed to postpone one class per month. Any other classes postponed will be considered as canceled without sufficient notice and class will be charged at the agreed hourly rate. Students who are disorganized and cancel or postpone regularly may see their course canceled.

📝 Be nice to your teachers! Any appointments canceled within 48 hours of the appointment are due and will be charged at the agreed hourly rate.

💪 We believe in hard work. You’ll be asked to study also on your own and outside of class time. To ensure results, please make sure to re-read your notes 7 times before attending the next class. This work is necessary and foundational to your learning. The results you’ll see in your French is more than worth the effort!

✅ The expectation is that homework will be done before class. This helps ensure that you are able to participate in class and makes you feel more prepared and confident!

📚 It may sound surprising, but you are back to school. You decided to join our course to have results. To help you reach your dream of speaking French, we track your attendance and if you miss the class more than 3 times, you’ll be excluded from your course.

🤒 If your teacher is sick, your class will be postponed to a later date.

🤩 Only bring positive vibes to your class.

🤔 If you feel that your lessons are aimed at the wrong level (too easy or too difficult), then let us know as soon as possible.

😅 It may sound obvious, but this is a French class, so you are required to speak… French.

📵 Turn off all distractions, notifications, and your phone. Your full attention is required. Don’t multitask during your class.

🌸 Teachers at I Learn French have a non-compete contract so they are not allowed to accept direct solicitation from I Learn French’s clients and students.

🌈  Diversity is important to us and you should know that our teaching staff and students reflect this ✌🏻✌️✌🏽✌🏿🌈

For online classes:

🧼 Turn off your washing machine if you’re next to it.

👻 Put your camera on. It’s nicer to learn, talk, and teach real people.

👩‍💻 You can attend the class on your phone, but please note that it is a lot more difficult to see the shared screen and chat functionality in the app.

🎧 Make sure to use good-quality headphones. AirPods are fashionable but the sound is quite poor.

🔕 Mute yourself if someone behind you is talking, making noise, or playing music.

🗃 Save the code / direct link of your class in an easy to access location.

🕐 Connect to the class at least 5 minutes beforehand to avoid last minute bugs, computer’s update, etc.

🔌 We are not responsible for your internet connection or any other technical issues. No refund of any sort will be given.

⚡️We are doing our best to avoid any technical issues, but… we are human and we depend on technology. In 2021 it’s impossible to be 100% technical-issue free. Bear with us on this.
